The following list will cover some of our favorite places/things to do while we're living or visiting this beautiful city! One word of advice though - there's an overwhelming amount of things on offer here...you might want try only focusing on one thing at a time until your feet have found their ground. :)
Some Favorite Places We Like Visiting: This is the ultimate guide for new residents and tourists alike. Things that people who live here never show you but everyone else should know about (like where the best coffee is).
Other things we love: Streams Beach Club - It's one of our favorite places to go on a sunny day! The perfect place for beach volleyball, swimming or just having some drinks with friends. We also recommend checking out their Wednesday night social hours from 11-12pm as they offer discounted menu items like $14 fish tacos and $16 fried chicken sandwiches. They have a service called "Taco Tuesday" which offers discounts on various taco dishes each week so be sure not to miss it!
Old Town Pasadena - A great place to go if you want some culture. There's a ton of cool shops and restaurants here that are worth checking out!
The Rose Bowl - It may not be in Pasadena but it is definitely something everyone should see at least once in their lifetime.
Arroyo Park - This happens to be one of our favorite parks, because there always seems like something going on here from concerts (they have tons!) to people playing games or just hanging out with friends. They also offer bike rentals for those looking for an adventure through the park without having to worry about where they left their car keys!
Things That People Who Live Here Never Show You But Everyone Else Should Know: Where the best coffee is - A lot of people here love to go to Starbucks or Jitters but we promise you that there are much better options right in your backyard! The best coffee spots around include:
Caffe Dolce Vita on Colorado Blvd. (they have the most amazing drip coffee and also a great selection for those looking for more than just their standard latté)
Black Cat Coffee House on Raymond Ave. (located right near Caltech, this place has some seriously good homemade donuts!)
Handsome Roasters on Fair Oaks Ave. (We've been told they're one of the first roasters who had an Instagram following!). They offer tours every Saturday at 11am if anyone wants to see how it's done.
Things that are closed on Mondays - You might have noticed by now but a lot of stores in Pasadena close on Monday, which can be frustrating for those who need to shop after work. Things like ikea and Target (not the grocery store) will all be closed until Tuesday morning so plan accordingly!
Pier 39 San Francisco - Not actually located in Pasadena but it is definitely worth mentioning as one of our favorite spots to go when we're feeling adventurous or just want to travel a little bit farther from home.
