The Riverwalk - Georgetown is famous for its downtown river walk and award winning parks system with over 110 acres dedicated to recreational space. The popular destination is the perfect place for family outings or even just taking in some nature while you're visiting Georgetown. In addition there are many restaurants along this scenic strip as well as plenty of shopping opportunities.

Historic Homes - There are several historic homes located throughout our quaint little town that have been preserved and renovated by the local government such as St John's Episcopal Church built in 1832 which was originally designed by renowned architect Robert Mills (who also designed the Washington Monument)

Sports - Georgetown is home to some of the state's most popular sports teams. We have one high school (Eastside High School), two colleges, and three minor league baseball teams. Our motto here in G-town is "We're a team town." One of our more notable attractions are The Swamp Things which play at historic Boykin Field on East Main Street. It was completed in 1932 as part of President Roosevelt's New Deal programs during the Great Depression era.

Shopping Districts - Whether you love antique stores or prefer modern shopping malls, there should be something for everyone right around your neighborhood! Check out Silver Street, East Main Street and the Five Points Shopping District to find your favorite stores.

Hiking in the Mountains - Georgetown is located right at the foothills of The Blue Ridge Mountain range. This means that you have a world class mountain hike literally minutes from home! Things like Tray Mountain State Park offer trails for everyone with various degrees of difficulty as well as camping opportunities.

Community Events - Community events are happening all around town year round and always end up being fun times! Keep an eye out on social media or check our website for upcoming events so that you don't miss them!

Kids Activities - We've got plenty going on here in G-town when it comes to things to do with kids! Things like the Shoppes at Georgetown, The Swamp Things MLB games and community events are a few places that come quickly to mind. We also have both outdoor and indoor pools as well as great schools.

Parks - There's not much better than spending your weekend playing in one of our many parks around town. Whether it be flying down green slides or tossing the football on some grassy fields, you're bound to find something for everyone at these local gems.

Date Ideas - A night out with your significant other can take on multiple forms depending on what you want from them! You could go see a movie together, enjoy dinner at one of the many local restaurants or get in some retail therapy at our shopping districts. Date night is an excellent way to spend quality time together!

Family Activities - If you're a family that's looking for things to do around town, we've got plenty! We have community events such as The Easter Egg Hunt and Fall Festival which are perfect for kids ages 0-12 and their families.
